I probably shouldn't have...

but I definitely did.
When I first saw this vintage style satchel on Lily Bees blog, I'll admit, I swooned a bit.
I was also going through post-Bahamas blues... so retail therapy was necessary.
The only bad thing I would say is that it can be a little fiddly when you are trying to get your purse out to pay for things. Also, I had to downsize the contents of my handbag (but, to be honest, this is probably a good thing, I carry so much rubbish around with me!).
But, overall I have a lot of love for this cute little bag.

New Hair.

Hey lovelies,
so I thought I'd do before and after of my hairdresser experience. I was sooo scared, I've had a bad experience before (I blogged about it here), and I strayed from my usual hairdresser Tiffany.
When I took these photos yesterday I realized how bloomin' difficult it is to take photos of yourself, let alone any that are actually half decent. Any of you who know me will know that I absolutely hate pictures of myself, I even hated the photos of myself from the Bahamas, much to my boyfriends dismay. So, finally putting up pictures of myself on my blog is kind of a big deal for me... be nice please!

Anyway, my hair was in MAJOR need of a cut, it was an absolute state. Completely dead at the ends and felt like straw, my side fringe had totally grown out and to be honest, it was getting me down a lot. You know when you just feel really manky?!

So anyways, this is the after result...

I'm really happy with the cut, she just put a few long layers in and chopped my side fringe back in. This is a really dark colour for me, but I've used this before so I know that after 3 or 4 washes I really like the shade. Yay :)

P.S I really am trying to get over my fear of the camera, but I literally just cringe at every photo I've uploaded, eugh!! Does anyone else ever feel like this??

I make all that I believe...

I had a great little walk in the sunshine on my lunch break today, to the soundtrack of YeahYeahYeahs and Metric. I thought I'd share a couple of snaps that I took while wondering around.
Covent Garden can be so beautiful in the summer, full of pretty little backstreets, wild flowers and hidden parks. Not at all what you would expect in the middle of the city, you just have to look. This little passage is right next to my office and smells gorgeous, just like it could be in the middle of the country! Do you ever wish you could bottle a smell?

I must apologize for the rubbish photo quality, these were taken on my 'shitberry', I literally can't wait to finally upgrade to an Iphone in October, just for the camera alone!
Anyhoo, I'm off to the hairdressers tonight, and I'm terrified! I have stuck to the same hairdresser and colourist for a while now, but as I am ALWAYS at my boyfriends’ house, which is an hour away, so I thought it's about time I try to find a nearer hairdresser, eeek. I think I large glass of pinot will be in order to calm my nerves... wish me luck!

No longer, no longer, what you ask...

Hello lovelies, it’s nearly the weekend, yeaaah!!
Have you got anything fun planned?
I’ve got a bit of a jam-packed one… I’m heading to Soho tomorrow night for my sisters’ birthday drinks. On Saturday the mister and I are going to Kensington Roof Gardens for a bit of a party day, there’s a DJ and drinks, so I'm really looking forward to that.  Sunday it’s my sisters’ actual birthday so I expect the plan will be to head to Hampstead Heath, and then we are going to see The Dark Knight. Pheeewf, it’s going to be manic!

Anyway, down to lipstick. I've always been drawn to nude and pink lipsticks, I tend to pick nude early in the morning when I don't know what I'm doing with my hair/make-up/outfit. Nude goes with everything, right?

Hue’ from MAC is a gorgeous pinky-nude shade, one of those I’d describe as ‘my lips but better’. It’s such a lovely day-to-day lipstick that would suit most skin tones.  It has a creamy texture and is very pigmented. The only problem for me is that I find it far too drying. After wearing it for a couple of hours my lips look cracked and dry, even if I moisturize beforehand. So, in all honesty, despite the lovely colour, I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing this, at £13.50 a pop.
Have you tried Mac ‘Hue’? What did you think?

Do you ever feel a little lost?

Hey my lovelies,
Hope you all had smashing weekends and are making the most of the sunshine?
I had a fabulous couple of days, which sadly seemed to be over in a flash.
One of my highlights was going out for breakfast with my mister.
We decided to hit ‘The Breakfast Club’ in Soho, it’s a happy little place to be.
Think egg-yoke yellow cafĂ© with an 80’s theme, pop music, polaroids and drawings that cover the brick walls, and they serve indecently sized breakfasts. Yeh.
There’s nothing like a good brunch to set the weekend straight. Agreed?

Anyway, sorry for the lack of posts last week. I’ve been having a few weird distant days where I'm feeling a little lost and confused about what I want to do with my life. I've just been generally a little unmotivated.
I think I am limiting myself when there is so much out there for me yet to achieve. So I really need to start pushing myself to be more motivated and productive, and to use all my free time to start figuring myself out. I want to try a couple of new things, like a drawing class, meditation class and a make-up course.

Blogging wise, the main problem I have with my blog is that I really don’t like the look of it at the moment… it just isn't doing it for me. So I need to work on that, I think once I like the layout and header, I'll be more inclined to post regularly! Any suggestions are welcome.
I also need to get over my fear of the camera. I love reading blogs where you guys who post tons of photographs of yourselves, I think it's the nosey side of me, it's nice to have a peek into other peoples lives. I just wish I had the confidence to do that, I hate seeing pictures of myself, let alone taking pictures of myself... But I am going to try to change. I'm also going to attempt making some YouTube vlogs, I'm not quite sure what I'll be rambling on about but I'm going to give it a go anyway :)

I hope you've all had a great start to the week!

Holiday Purchases

Hey guys!
We're all guilty of a little panic shopping before going on holiday, yes? I don't know about you lovely lot, but I love reading bloggers posts showing hauls of what they have been buying.
Well, here are a few things I picked up on a few manic sprees before jetting off...

I’ll start with my favorite piece, which my boyfriend very kindly bought for me while we were away in Ireland.
A really cute white embroidered blouse Topshop £35. I love the embroidery collar detail and the pearl buttons, just my kind of thing. On holiday I wore it tucked into a high-waisted floral skirt, and a red high-waited skirt. I'm planning on teaming it with Jeans and heels for a night out, or underneath a jumper in the winter so you can see the pretty collar detail. LOVE.

A pale bleach effect, cropped denim jacket Topshop £38. A holiday essential, right? I felt so 1990's buying a denim jacket. Like I was using someone from Saved by The Bell as an unlikely fashion icon.

A long sleeve spotty blouse by Sparkle and fade for Urban Outfitters £25 in the sale. I couldn't resist this. I saw it on Lily Bees' blog. Seeing as I love absolutely everything this girl wears, I knew I had to have it.
I haven't actually worn it yet, but I'm planning on wearing it tucked into black jeans, done up to the collar with bright orange lippy. Or tucked inside a pleated skirt with tights and boots.

Ripped denim hotpants £25 Urban Outfitters sale. Again with the denim. I don't think I realized just how short these shorts were. They were a bit of an impulse buy the night I was packing for the Bahamas. Fine for the beach, but I'm not sure they'll be acceptable for the city unless I wore them with thick tights.

Shades Topshop £12. These just go with everything, you can't go wrong.
Lastly I got a couple of Topshop Lipsticks, both £8 and a nail varnish £5.
Idol, a bright shocking candy pink, perfect for impact lips. Tease, a couple of shades lighter, for a more day-time look. The nail varnish is a really nice pastel purple called 'Parma Violet'.

Have you been shopping recently?

Harriet Gray Illustrations

Hello lovies, how are you all today?

I'm ridiculously tired, I stupidly didn't go to sleep until gone midnight last night, and I had to get up at 6am for work. Yeh, ouch. As a result I am currently on coffee number 3 (hello acne).
Anyway, last night I was browsing through a few new blogs, one of my favorite things to do.
I stumbled across Harriet Grays Illustrations, and I'm soooo pleased I did.
Wow, this girl has talent. Her hand drawn illustrations are so delicate and stunning. I’m planning on framing a couple of her prints (she has a shop on etsy) for my dressing table, but I’m having such a hard time deciding which ones, they’re all so beautiful. I thought I’d share with you a couple that I particularly like…

Artwork is a tricky thing, we all know what we like when we see it. Ultimately, it doesn't matter. If something appeals to you, if it makes you laugh, think or feel that you are falling into it, then it's art.
What do you think of Harriets’ work? Do you love it as much as I do?

Beautiful Bahamas

Well hello there!
I hope you've all had a lovely couple of weeks?
Sorry it's all been a little quiet over here on my blog, but I've been being spoilt rotten holidaying in the Bahamas for the past 10 days. It was insane.
I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have had the opportunity to holiday in the paradise that is the Bahamas with my wonderful mister.
I can't possibly put into worlds how beautiful the country is, we were so blown away by it. It was like being in a parallel universe where everything is stunning and looks like it's straight out of pinterest.
It's the kind of place you think doesn't actually exist until you see it, literally a paradise, and I can only describe it as perfection. Without sounding too cheesey, it really made me realize that there's a whole lot of living to be done in this gorgeous world.

We had the most incredible 10 days, snorkeling, swimming with sharks, feeding sting rays, kayaking, driving around, eating wonderful food (conk fish and lobsters mmm), meeting crazy local people, and sunbathing on a private beach.
On top of all that, we were lucky enough to be staying in a million pound mansion, which we had all to ourselves, in a beautiful gated community away from all the tourism too. Spoilt doesn't even come close!

Anyway, I guess it's back to reality now (boohoo).
I have a couple of beauty and fashion posts on the way for you lovelies.
